So here’s the story…

There are obviously many diet plans in the world. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.

As such, as soon as you’ve decided on a particular diet, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, it’s important that you stay committed to your plan. Straying from your original chosen plan may very well lead to failure. It will take you back to square one.

It’s really a good idea to build up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer or device. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.

Pretty basic stuff, right? But it’s super important.

I only bring this up because I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself. And there’s really only one reason why…

On low-sugar, you crave sweets. On a low-calorie diet, you tend to crave calorie-rich foods. If the person on the screen tells you it’s healthy, you should probably eat it, yeah? And let’s not lie to ourselves. Meal prep videos are, in many instances, extremely will-weakening. 😉

Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. Calorie reduction and fresh, healthy foods and drinks are said to be the most surefire way to lose weight healthfully.

Makes sense when you really think about it. Don’t pig out all day, steer clear of prepackaged junk, and you should see some pretty powerful results. This is especially true if our activity levels are relatively high.

It’s standard, conventional advice. There’s probably good reason for this!

Of course, not all diet plans follow this model. And even if they don’t, you may want to stick with them anyway. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.

Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
